One Angel Donation helps complete Toy Room at Aids Hospice

Jenna spent six months in South Africa on a study abroad program through Stellenbosch University. During Jenna’s study abroad at Stellenbosch University in South Africa she worked for the Cotlands in their AIDS orphanage and hospice in Cape Town. From a young girl Jenna wanted to work with AIDS kids. She truly enjoyed her work there. She had hoped to go back.

One Angel Foundation was able to make a substantial donation to the Cotlands this year which was used to expand their toy library. The library is used  to teach parents to develop their skills to play with their children as play is an important part of a child’s development and helps in muscle development, concentration and perseverance, listening and language skills.

Monica Buitendag, Director of Cotlands sent us a wonderful thank you letter:

Dear Supporters of the One Angle Foundation”                                                                                        29 November 2011

From everyone here at Cotlands in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, I’d like to say a very big thank you to each and every one who contributed to the success of the One Angel Foundation`s 1st World Hike A Mountain Day. Thank you for the donation  which we received to benefit the children of Cotlands.

If you’ve never been to South Africa, it would be quite difficult for you to understand the many difficulties facing underprivileged children in our country and therefore we thank you for supporting the work that we do.
Poverty is a big problem here and where there is poverty, you’ll also find alcohol and drug addiction, unwanted pregnancies and child abuse. We deal with little children every day who have been on the receiving end of these serious social problems, because Cotlands is about children, children who have been abandoned, abused, neglected and infected and affected with HIV/AIDS.
Cotlands operates throughout South Africa and, with the help of generous supporters like you, we are able to reach out to thousands of little ones in need. We help by giving them a place to stay, providing medical treatment, giving them a good early education and helping children with special needs, such as the blind and disabled. We work hard to help families work through their problems so that they can be united again and live happily together. And, where children are orphans or have been abandoned by their parents, we search for adoptive parents who can offer them a safe, loving and comfortable home.

Our work isn’t easy, so it’s been very encouraging to know that people on the opposite side of the world to us are working to build bridges of hope and support. And with your help, our children can learn to enjoy the precious things in life and know they are being………
Given a chance of a future

Once again thank you for supporting the “One Angle Foundation” because with your support, Jenna`s memory will live on in our hearts.

Wishing you and your family a merry Christmas, blessed with joy, love and togetherness of family and friends

Yours sincerely,
Monica Buitendag
Director Cotlands Western Cape

One Angel Donation helps complete School in Honduras

OLANCHO AID FOUNDATION

Jenna spent part of two summers working with Olancho Aid Foundation to help the children and families in Julticalpa Honduras. The time spent in Julticalpa left a lasting imprint on Jenna.  This past year Olancho undertook an effort to build new class rooms.

This year One Angel Foundation was able to make a substantial donation to Olancho Aid to help complete new classrooms in Julticalpa. Recently Olancho Aid has completed the school.  Olancho Aid prepared a wonderful video of the new school and the school kids.
